Future World Vision: Developing the Workforce of the Future

Future World Vision’s Mega City 2070 helps civil engineers shape the built world of tomorrow. The 3D platform, which incorporates extensive scenario planning and reflects ground-breaking research, enables its users to visualize the role cities will play 50 years in the future. By 2070, the built environment may be expected to withstand population density, severe weather, cyber threats and more, while simultaneously providing safe and health opportunities for residents to live, work, and play.

The leaders of this future will be those who understand the dynamic environmental, technical, and socioeconomic systems that shape our world. To be future ready, we will need the workforce that is capable and inspired to deliver safe, sustainable, and resilient data-driven infrastructure of tomorrow. This panel will discuss the opportunity to inspire and develop this workforce of the future. Speakers will also go over strategies for creating multiple career pathways with on-ramps that support highly-skilled professionals, entry-level workers, and employees with non-traditional backgrounds.
