Sustainability, Resilience, and Equity in Mega City 2070

Future World Vision

Mega City creates a set of visuals that requires professionals to utilize new technologies in novel systems integrations to meet the needs of persons and societies in their specific cultural circumstances. And it embodies an eagerness and imaginative investment to question over and over again. Deploying our imagination, engineers anticipate threats and failures, emergencies and disasters. Engineers both imagine risks and also consider the means to reduce danger and harm. Those who use the Mega City platform can question how civil engineering shapes a metropolis whose safety is both resilient and adaptive, and also sustainable, especially in the face of climatic change. Exploring Mega City prompts inquiry concerning the health of the citizens — health (physical, mental, intellectual) depicted and understood within the present and future construct, and challenging environmental, economic, and trans-local frameworks — contexts often threatening and dangerous. Mega City enables its professional, corporate, academic, and educational participants to search and probe how structures and systems enable stakeholders/citizens to join and to voice their needs and hopes as they participate in achieving the extensive, public, equitable well-being the mega-city promises.

Join this session to hear from a panel of experts from on sustainability, resilience, and equity as they discuss their view on these critical areas in cities of the future.
