April J. Lander, MEM, JP, ENV SP, A.M.ASCE, is the ASCE Region 10 Director 2022-2025 and ASCE Representative to the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC), an Envision Sustainability Professional, and an independent contractor with 35 years of experience building local and global partnerships, providing strategic advice and training, and directing programs and projects in the water, environmental, emergency management, health, education, social, and sustainable development fields to improve quality of life outcomes.
April has been active in numerous sustainable engineering activities including leading the development of the world’s first infrastructure certification and financing framework requiring projects to meet sustainable development criteria; promoting best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion; and building the capacity of engineers to work ethically and combat corruption within the global civil engineering community.
April is originally from Illinois and has a Master’s Degree from Duke University. She is a dual US/New Zealand citizen living near Christchurch.
