Dr. Daniel G. Linzell, P.E., F.ASCE, is the Voelte-Keegan Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The emphasis of his teaching and research is in the area of structural engineering, with specific foci being advanced structural analysis; steel structures; the design and behavior of bridges during construction and under service loads; building and bridge systems and components under blast and impact loads; and structural health monitoring. He currently sits on the American Society of Civil Engineer’s (ASCEs) Department Heads Coordinating Council and the Composite Construction and Bridge and Tunnel Security Committees and is a Corresponding Member of ASCEs Body of Knowledge 3 Task Committee. Dr. Linzell also is a member of the Structural Stability Council’s Executive Committee and the Transportation Research Board’s Steel Bridge Committee. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania.
