Dr. Jayapregasham (Jaya) is Project Director for the Tunnel Programs in Dubai Municipality in United Arab Emirates. He is overseeing the Deep Tunnel Storm Water System project that is under construction and the Dubai Strategic Sewerage Tunnel that has just finsihed its design phase now. Prior to this, he was part of the AECOM leading the feasibility study and preliminary design of sewerage network for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) Phase 2 for the Public Utilities Board (PUB) of Singapore. Dr Jaya has spent 16 years working with the Singapore’s PUB where he was instrumental in the start-up of the DTSS program, and also the startup of the NEWater (name coined for the high purity recycled secondary wastewater effluent by microfiltration + reverse osmosis) distribution system program in Singapore. Dr Jaya also has extensive experience in the development of reclaimed water for indirect potable reuse.
