Kenneth H. Rosenfield, P.E., F.ASCE, Env SP is a Project Director for Ardurra in Newport Beach, California. He has served in this position for the past one year after recently completing a 27-year employment in local government which included being the Interim City Manager for a 15-month period. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.
During his overall 44-year career, Mr. Rosenfield has worked in both the private and public sectors and has evaluated and processed substantial private developments, overseen multimillion-dollar public works construction projects, initiated Engineering and Public Works Departments in newly established cities, and directed the design of numerous street and infrastructure improvement projects. For most of his career, he held the dual positon of Director of Public Works and City Engineer. He believes in the tenet that civil engineers are here to serve the public good, to work to improve everyone’s quality of life and to use their knowledge, training, skills and experience to solve problems in a positive manner. He has provided services to many public agencies assisting them to efficiently implement their Capital Improvement Projects, enhance public services and maintain infrastructure systems. During these engagements, Mr. Rosenfield has provided numerous public presentations and considers good communication skills to be a key to his success.
For ASCE, he is completing the three-year term as Director for Region 9, a member of the ASCE Board of Direction, was formerly the Chair of the Society’s Public Policy Committee, and is a State Advocacy Captain. His previous volunteer service for ASCE has included being President of the Orange County, CA Branch, President of the Los Angeles, CA Section, Chair of the Region 9 Transportation Committee and member of the Society's State Government Relations Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside.
