Dan Sloat is a structural engineer with Degenkolb Engineers in Seattle, Washington. Dan is a member of Degenkolb's tsunami design group, consisting of staff with special knowledge of the unique challenges and demands of structural design and planning for tsunami loads. Over the last decade, he has been involved with over a dozen tsunami projects, including evacuation towers, multi-use facilities with tsunami refuges, and disaster planning.
