Climate change is here, and communities large and small are confronted with more frequent and intense heat waves, volatile winter weather, and unfamiliar patterns of precipitation. These risks are exacerbated by the fact that the built environment in every community was designed for a past climate that no longer exists. As we adjust to the conditions of 1.5°C of warming and carbon emissions continue to grow, how can we navigate this reality, manage growing physical risks, and design, build, and maintain structures that are prepared for the future? In this session we'll explore these questions, learn how to apply world-class climate model data and maps, and build the climate literacy that is essential for anyone working in the built environment today.
