We are less than one year away from the World Cup, and iconic cities like Seattle are gearing up to host the beautiful game’s marquee event! The World Cup is a showcase of skill, heart, and determination, from countries both big and small. Some teams rely on size, speed or flare, while others rely on tactics, consistency or grit. Players on a team can also fill widely different roles, some orchestrating the flow of the game, while others stay in the shadows doing the dirty work that is essential to a team’s success. Infrastructure is no different! Some projects are showcases for a city, creating a vibrant community asset that is a catalyst for economic growth and activity. Other projects are unsung heroes, doing behind the scenes work that is critical to the fabric and function of any elite city or organization. In this entertaining session we’ll do a World Cup-themed deep dive into a wide range of infrastructure projects by using the Envision Sustainable Infrastructure tool. A variety of Envision-Verified project types and sizes will be selected completely at random (wink wink) for an analysis of their strengths and weaknesses regarding project sustainability, resiliency, equity, leadership, innovation and more. This will be accomplished by looking through the lens of various Envision credits from the project. While soccer, football or futbol provide a common playing field that makes it the world’s game, Envision provides a common sustainability language that all organizations should unite behind to develop high performing, sustainable infrastructure!
